Chef's tip

What’s the difference between a cocktail and a mocktail?

The distinction between a cocktail and a mocktail is in the composition. A cocktail is a drink that mixes several ingredients, at least one of which is alcoholic. It offers a variety of flavours, depending on the spirits and other ingredients used.

On the other hand, a mocktail is a non-alcoholic version of a cocktail. It generally imitates the taste and appearance of a cocktail but does not contain any alcohol. Mocktails often use fruit juices, infusions and spices to reproduce the complexity of cocktail flavours. This is a popular alternative if you don’t drink alcohol, or for occasions when you don´t want to drink alcohol.

This recipe can also be made with other fruits: red fruit, mango, apple, lemon, mint or ginger.
